Attention Teachers: Give Yourself a Gift This Holiday and Save Some Money

December 3, 2015 Leave a Comment

shutterstock_222517807Just a few days left until Christmas!  Ok, maybe more like a few weeks until Christmas, but how many of you have been eyeing your calendar and joyfully crossing off the days until recess? Be honest, its ok! Of course you love your students and your job, but you deserve a break!!! You also deserve treating yourself (and your family, if their nice) to some holiday discounts on all sorts of things.

After reading this blog you might go out and do the following: Take a vacation without going broke! Hit the slopes without hitting your wallet (too hard)! Buy a Brand New Car! Lower your car insurance! Sound intriguing? Great, read on!

Maybe you did not get to take that tropical vacation last summer. Why not go now? (Or Spring Break) You can sign up with STA Travel and receive special deals only for teachers. You can even get additional travel insurance at low-cost and journey with peace of mind. If you are looking for a non-traditional vacation and want to explore the local culture more than an expensive hotel, then check out the Educators Travel Network.  Wait, you have never gone to Disney World? (Confession, neither have I!) If you have children who keep asking to go (or you want to fulfill your childhood dream) but can’t because it’s too expensive, maybe now you can. Check out The Mouse For Less for great teacher discounts.

Do  you love to ski, but find the price a bit too steep? Don’t worry! A lot of resorts have special discounts for teachers.  Check out On The Snow for example.  If you are looking for deals across the country, stop by Liftopia.com and they can help you out.  Make sure you ask your local ski resort what they can do for you too.

Maybe road tips are more your speed, but your car is not up for the challenge. How about a BRAND NEW CAR! I know on a teacher salary this is often out of the question, but the GMC Educator Discount Program might hold the key to your new Chevy, Buick, or GMC vehicle.  That would be a pretty nice gift!

You’re going to need insurance for your new car of course, so why not get a special discount on it? Even if you don’t buy a new car, you can still lower your payments with a more teacher-friendly plan. I’m sure there are many companies that offer discounted rates for teachers, but here are two for you to look into; Liberty Mutual and Farmers. By the way, Farmers also has award-winning resources for teachers. Click here to learn more.  They also launched an initiative to show just how much they value teachers called Thank A Million Teachers! Farmers goal is to give away $1 million dollars in grants to deserving teachers nationwide. Way to go Farmers!

Hope you found the above ideas and information useful and that it brings you some holiday cheer. You deserve it!  Please share your thoughts, comments, suggestions, and ideas with us below.  Tell your teacher friends to stop by and check us out too.  Oh, and if you have not already don so, why not give yourself an early gift and sign up for our mailing list. You will have access to our White Paper, 8-Surefire Ways To Save as well as our Special Report, 7 Steps Towards a More Mindful Classroom.  Thanks for reading and for sharing!
